English Article – Hard-pressed, yet victorious

Hard-pressed, yet Victorious

Sr. Leena Sunil

We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed,

but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.

2 Corinthians 4

And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written,

I believed and therefore I spoke we also believe and therefore speak,

knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus.

2 Corinthians 4:13-15

Apostle Paul had gone through many troubled moments while spreading the good news of Jesus among people. He was imprisoned, repeatedly beaten as well as stoned. He had been in danger from river robbers as well as from Jews and Gentiles and false Christians. He endured many cold and sleepless nights and hungry and thirsty days.

How can we endure the hard-press times that we go thru like Apostle Paul did? Apostle Paul hard-press experience may not be ours. Since each member of the body of Christ is unique and have different functions to perform, likewise the hard-press time of each person will be different from another. But since Apostle Paul BELIEVED AND THEN SPOKE (2 Corinthians 4:13) on what Holy Spirit had put in his soul, our part too is the same to BELIEVE AND SPEAK against the situation with the weapon of the Word of God, so that like Apostle Paul we can also say – We are not crushed, We are not in despair, We are not forsaken, We are not destroyed.

Believing and Speaking is a pair that should go hand-in-hand. If we speak without believing on what we say, it just acts as a sound. But when we Believe and Speak, then is the power of God that will be manifested in the situation we need the change.
